A CREATIVE SOUL REBORN
After 12 years of a rewarding career as a master stylist, colourist, trainer, and manager, Hannah Geraghty is now working towards her dream of having her own salon.
After taking the plunge to become a self- contracted hairdresser, Hannah was faced with the nationwide lockdown, mere days before she was due to begin the journey. This was not going to stop her – only make her more determined. Currently based at Corkin + Friends, on the street front of The Welder on Welles Street, Hannah loves being based in the city.
Hannah has a career with many accomplishments, including international training events in Germany and Paris, the latter where she represented New Zealand in a cutting competition amongst a dozen other countries.
This experience means she offers a high standard of knowledge, from both international colour and cutting techniques to editorial and bridal work. Hair is her passion, and she prides herself on continuously developing her craft and learning new techniques.
This year for Hannah is all about rebirth. After taking all that she has learnt along the way, and finding her own values and voice, her very own business, Create Hairdressing, was born. The heart and soul of this being to ‘inspire, believe, and create’. “Inspiration gives you a sense of endless possibilities; this results in believing you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Combined, this is a recipe for creating greatness. When people walk out of the salon, I want them to feel these things. It is not just about hair; it is about new-found perspective.
“I want to inspire my clients with the latest techniques and to share my knowledge. I want to impart a sense of self-belief, knowing that this style has been handmade just for them.
“When you give someone inspiration and belief, you are creating confidence, energy, motivation, enthusiasm and most importantly, self-love – and all this comes from creating great hair.”
