THOM YORKE

Wolfbrook Arena23 October 

Renowned British musician, visual artist, and composer, Thom Yorke will be playing Wolfbrook Arena on 23 October as part of his international tour, Everything. The evening’s performance will draw from material spanning his musical career, from his time as the frontman of the alternative rock band Radiohead through to his various solo and soundtrack projects, as well as his most recent work with The Smile.

KIWIS AND KIWI FERNS 

Apollo Projects Stadium27 October

The Kiwis and Kiwi Ferns are heading to Ōtautahi to take on Australia in an epic international rugby league double header on 27 October at Apollo Projects Stadium. The Kiwis and Kangaroos will square off in Ōtautahi Christchurch for the first time in 35 years, while the Kiwi Ferns take on the Jillaroos in their first match in the South Island since 1998. Get out there and support our rugby league legends!

FAST5 NETBALL WORLD SERIES

Wolfbrook Arena

9–10 November 

FAST5 is netball like you’ve never seen before, including five players a side, shorter quarters, power plays, and super shots. Showcasing the vibrant nature of FAST5 for both players and spectators, Christchurch has provided the perfect atmosphere with further fun and innovation this year! The FAST5 Netball World Series features the top six female teams in the world, including Australia, England, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, and Uganda, alongside an amazing men’s competition.

NEW ZEALAND CUP WEEK

Riccarton Park

9, 13, and 16 November

A Canterbury social highlight featuring high-class racing, fashion, food, and entertainment across three magnificent days as the region celebrates all that is great about spring in Christchurch. Enjoy the New Zealand Cup Meeting at Riccarton Park Racecourse with excitement, glamour, and outstanding racing each day.

ADDINGTON CUP WEEK

Addington Raceway

12 and 15 November 

Addington Cup Week is without a doubt a highlight on New Zealand’s sporting and social calendars. Held on the second Tuesday in November every year, The IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup Day is a day of racing, fashion, entertainment, and celebration. Cup Day and the Show Day Races are the perfect excuse to dress your best and experience a Canterbury tradition.

13 November 

Multi-platinum rock band Crowded House bring their 2024 Australia and New Zealand Gravity Stairs Tour to Wolfbrook Arena right here in Ōtautahi Christchurch.Crowded House has sold over 15 million records worldwide, earning a Brit Award, 13 Australian ARIA Awards, three Aotearoa Music Awards, and an MTV VMA. 14–16 November 

Operating Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (14–16 Nov), Canterbury is invited to experience an event like no other! The Christchurch Show represents everything special the region has to offer, including a range of exciting entertainment, trade and market vendors, livestock judging, amusement rides, family activities, animal showing, and the largest range of food trucks in the South Island!

HOZIER

23 November 

Hozier is back with his Unreal Unearth Tour 2024. An instantly recognisable voice and stirring songcraft solidified Irish troubadour Hozier as a Grammy-nominated, award-winning, multi-platinum singer and songwriter. His success was driven by the thought-provoking quintuple-platinum anthem Take Me To Church. After a sold-out show on 22 November, don’t miss out on his second show on Saturday 23 November at Wolfbrook Arena.

TALL BLACKS V CHINESE TAIPEI

25 November 

The Tall Blacks are heading to Ōtautahi Christchurch for a FIBA 2025 Asia Cup Qualifier at Wolfbrook Arena! After several strong performances during the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup, the Tall Blacks will return home in November 2024 to continue their qualification journey for the FIBA 2025 Asia Cup. This is the only Tall Blacks home game this year, and Christchurch is playing host, so don’t miss it!

BLACKCAPS V ENGLAND TEST

Hagley Oval

28 November–2 December

Ōtautahi Christchurch will be hosting the first Test match this summer between the BLACKCAPS and England! The Test will be played from Thursday 28 November to Monday 2 December 2024 at Hagley Oval, one of New Zealand’s most picturesque cricketing venues. This is a great few days out for all the family. Get the sunblock ready and pack the picnic – you might even catch a six!
