We're back!

 Who would have thought that winter would bring with it a packed season of cultural wonders? I’ve written many times in my editorial about events being on hiatus or jinxing myself with ‘we’re back!’, but I write this with my fingers and toes crossed as it finally seems like we are reclaiming the stage! Yes, I’ve been very giddy with the release of blockbusters like Top Gun Maverick, and I was positively transported back to my childhood with Jurassic World Dominion, but I am far more excited to see new arthouse films released and local film and doco festivals kick off again. We’ve also had the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra back on the boards with a mesmerising performance of The Angel of Light, and the Court Theatre delivered a technologically impressive rendition of The Girl on the Train. So, I’m going to write it again… we’re back!
